Colonial Girl Costume
There are many things you can do in a Colonial girl costume. You can go trick or treating for Halloween, attend a revolutionary war reenactment, wear it on a tour of Colonial Williamsburg or wear it for a school play. Back then, everyday closing was simple because it was hand made. It needed to be easy to make and easy to mend. This is a plain blue dress with white cuffs, a collar and an apron. You can imagine that the mother of this child had some extra lace and trimmed her collar and apron with it to make a plain dress look pretty. Since girls rarely went out without their heads covered, this costume also includes the white bonnet. Wear this complete costume with a pair of lace up boots or loafers with a buckle for the most authentic look. Footwear not included.
